Lightning Strike Closes BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport

Incoming flights have been diverted to other airports.

A lightning strike to the control tower at Baltimore Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport closed the facility to air traffic Thursday.

The airport reported on its Twitter account that lightning from afternoon thunderstorms had grounded all planes. Incoming air traffic has been diverted.
