Man Found Dead at Rocky Point Park in Essex

Homicide detectives are investigating the man's death, according to Baltimore County Police Department officials.

Baltimore County detectives are investigating the death of a man found dead early Tuesday evening at Rocky Point Park in Essex.

Police were dispatched to the park in the 2200 block of Rocky Point Road at about 4:30 p.m. for a "check on subject" call, according to Lt. Robert McCullough, a spokesman for the Baltimore County Police Department.

Callers to 911 reported that a man was lying on the ground at the park, according to the spokesman.

When they arrived, officers found the unidentified man on the ground,  unresponsive. The man was pronounced dead at the scene by Baltimore County paramedics, according to McCullough.

Homicide detectives were called and responded to investigate.

The victim is not being identified at this time, according to McCullough. The man's body will be taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy.
