McDonald’s Hit Twice by Armed Robbers

Armed robberies, church thefts, home invasions and rape among recently reported crimes in Precinct 12.

Last month, the McDonald’s restaurant at 717 North Point Rd. was robbed at gunpoint on two separate occasions.

On Jan. 10, McDonald’s was robbed at 10:12 p.m. by a suspect possessing a semi-automatic handgun. According to police reports, the suspect jumped over the counter and pointed the weapon at a cashier, taking an unknown amount of cash.

On Jan. 19, the same McDonald’s was robbed by a suspect armed with a black automatic handgun. That suspect stole currency and two cash drawers with at least $50 and fled toward North Point Boulevard, according to police reports.

A partial list of other recent incidents:

On. Jan. 28, between 12:15 p.m. and 3:15 p.m., a suspect or suspects broke a rear door and entered a home in the 2500 block of Liberty Parkway. Reported stolen items included $200 in jewelry, collectible coins worth $2,000 and miscellaneous cash and items worth $1,000.

On Jan. 29, between 10 a.m. and 10:45 a.m., at the Eastpoint Mall, a male victim was punched in the throat while sitting in his car by a suspect who ripped his gold chain from his neck and fled.

On Jan. 29, the Shiloh Baptist Church, located in the 2400 block of Sycamore Ave., reported that $700 in musical equipment was stolen and two windows destroyed during a break-in of the church sanctuary. It is one of many recent, local church break-ins, according to Baltimore County Police.

On. Jan. 29, a three-month-old husky was stolen from a fenced-in backyard in the unit-block of Yorkway in Dundalk. The dog’s owner told police that 10 minutes after leaving his pet outside, he heard a loud noise, and when he went to investigate, the dog was gone.

On. Jan. 30, in the unit block of Flagship Rd. in Dundalk, a suspect entered a home’s back door armed with a black knife and confronted the homeowners. The suspect took approximately $150 in cash, as well as a rifle and gun case, which were recovered, according to police reports.

Melvin Locklear, of unit-block of N. Montford Ave., was charged with armed robbery, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, burglary and theft of less than $1,000.

On Feb. 2, at approximately 12:30 a.m., at 2630 Sparrows Point Rd., the address of Robbie’s Bar & Grill, a male victim alleged he was robbed and assaulted by two men who believed he had given information to Baltimore City Police that had led to their arrest on drug charges.

Charles Ashby Morgan, of the 2400 block of Lincoln Ave. in Sparrows Point, and Joshua M. Scottt, of the 2200 block of Lincoln Ave. in Sparrows Point, were charged with robbery, theft of less than $1,000 and second-degree assault.
