Mid Haven Road Fire Displaces Six Occupants

No one was injured in the July 7 Dundalk fire that involved a second-floor bedroom.

No one was injured in a Saturday evening fire that damaged a second-floor bedroom in a Gray Haven house, authorities said.

Firefighters responded to a call for a dwelling fire in the 8000 block of Mid Haven Road at about 8:30 p.m. July 7, according to Baltimore County Public Safety spokeswoman Louise Rogers-Feher.

Upon arrival, there was no evidence of a fire, but firefighters said they soon saw smoke inside the house and then reported seeing fire on the second floor.

The responders reported a working fire at 8:40 p.m. and had the blaze under control at 8:51 p.m., according to Rogers-Feher.

"They work quickly," she said.

The Red Cross was called to assist with housing arrangements for three adults and three children who were displaced by the fire, Rogers-Feher said.

There were no injuries reported, but the extreme heat of the day made the job tough for firefighters.

"Because of the heat, an MTA bus was requested for a cooling site," Rogers-Feher said. "I guess they needed some place to cool down and regroup."

The cause of the fire is under investigation, and no estimate of damage was available.
