Pedestrian Hit by Car and Killed in Dundalk

Shattina Santos, 31, of Reisterstown, died Monday night after being stuck by a car at Eastern Avenue and 54th Street in Dundalk.

A woman who was struck by a car at about 9 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Eastern Avenue and 54th Street in Dundalk has died of her injuries.

Shattina Santos, 31, of the unit block of Brookshire Drive in Reisterstown,  died at about 11 p.m. at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, according to Baltimore County police officials.

Crash investigators determined that Santos was crossing Eastern Avenue against the red light and wasn't in a crosswalk, according to a statement from spokeswoman Cpl. Cathleen Batton.

A 1994 Subaru Forester, traveling eastbound on Eastern Avenue, struck Santos. The driver, a 75-year-old Essex woman, stopped and remained at the scene, according to Batton.

The crash remains under investigation and no citations have been issued at this time, according to the statement. The case will be sent to the State's Attorney's Office for review upon completion of the police department's investigation, which is routine in fatal crashes, according to Batton.
