Police: Armed Man Gets Lawn Mower Back—Takes Dog, Too

Dundalk man used a bolt-action rifle to retrieve his lawn mower and steal a dog, according to police.

On June 7 at approximately 3:30 a.m., a 57-year-old Dundalk man carrying a rifle entered the home of another Dundalk man in the 1900 block of Van Buren Road and demanded the return of his lawn mower, Baltimore County police said.

The man, Garland Dean Davis of the 7600 block of Hackett Avenue, has been arrested and charged with armed robbery after police said he brandished the rifle as he forced the man to load the lawn mower into Davis’ red Chevy Cavalier.

Then, as he left, Davis also took the man’s dog, according to police.

Davis’ weapon, which was recovered, according to police, is described in police reports as a 303-caliber, bolt-action rifle.

Davis has been charged with two counts of armed robbery, two counts of robbery, two counts of first-degree assault, two counts of second-degree assault, theft of less than $1,000, resistance/interference with arrest, and illegal possession of a firearm.

Davis is being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center, according to court records
