Sandy Plains Elementary, Mark Building Company Vandalized with Graffiti

The Baltimore County Police Department provided the following information.

After a business and elementary school in Dundalk were recently vandalized with offensive graffiti, Baltimore County police say they are now investigating whether the incidents are related.

Graffiti was spray-painted on several signs at the Mark Building Company sometime between 10:30 p.m. on March 29 and 10 a.m. on March 30, according to a report from the North Point precinct of the Baltimore County Police Department.

Police classified the vandalism at the Mark Building Company at Lynch and Case roads as a "bias incident," meaning the graffiti may have a connection to racial, religious, ethnic or sexual orientation.

A swastika was spray-painted on one of the doors, and a star and smiley face were painted on the ground, according to a report from the North Point precinct.

Police said that property at the school in the 8300 block of Kavanagh Road was spray-painted sometime between 3:30 and 5:30 p.m. on March 28.

"We are looking at the possibility that they are connected," Cathy Batton, spokeswoman for the Baltimore County Police Department, said on April 4.
