Two More Bottle Bombs Found in Perry Hall Neighborhood

Police said teenagers are leaving the explosives in residential areas.

Baltimore County police discovered two homemade explosives in a residential area of Perry Hall Wednesday morning. The bottle bombs may be connected to , police said.

At about 9 a.m. Wednesday, a resident reported seeing a suspicious plastic bottle filled with liquid left on the sidewalk along the 9200 block of Greenhouse Circle. A Baltimore County police hazardous device unit secured the area and removed the bottle.

Investigators also found remnants of another bottle bomb that had exploded nearby, Lt. Ron Brooks of the White Marsh police precinct said.

The bombs are made from "basic household products" such as cleaning chemicals and plastic bottles, Brooks said. "But we all know how dangerous those can be if used incorrectly."

Police said the bombs are being left overnight by teenagers, he said.

Investigators do not believe the bombs are targeted at anyone specifically. Their location and design, however, indicate a possible connection to two explosives found late Saturday night. One was left in a mailbox near Burnam Woods Court and Burbage Court and another near Vicky Road and Moonstone Road.

Brooks encouraged residents to call 911 if they see any suspicious bottles containing liquid in their neighborhoods.
