Vintage Dundalk: County's First Ladder Truck

Dundalk was home to Baltimore County's first ladder truck, which came to the county in 1950.

Did you know that Dundalk was once home to the Baltimore County Fire Department's first ladder truck?

From the Baltimore County Public Library archives, Engine No. 1:

The Dundalk Fire Department's Fire Engine #1. Received in 1950, this was Baltimore County's first aerial ladder truck, and the first truck company since the 1919 annexation. The vehicle was a Seagrave 65-foot aerial, with a 150 gallon water tank. The vehicle was used for 30 years. It was transferred from Dundalk to Towson in 1955.
