Woman Stabs Boyfriend in Self-Defense

A 21-year-old Colgate woman stabbed her boyfriend with a kitchen knife while fending him off during an alleged assault, according to Baltimore County police.

The boyfriend, identified by police as Ulysses Jerome Brown III, faces a preliminary hearing Sept. 30 on charges related to the alleged assault.

Brown allegedly entered the woman's home, located in the 7000 block of Bank Street, through a rear window and began assaulting the woman at approximately 6 a.m. on Sept. 4.

The woman grabbed a kitched knife to defend herself, according to police, and stabbed Brown in the leg. Brown was taken to hospital and later arrested, according to police. The girlfriend was not charged with any crimes.

Brown, 20, of the 3200 block of Sequoia Avenue, Baltimore, was charged with first-degree burglary, third-degree burglary, second-degree assault, trespassing and making a false statement to a police officer.

After posting bond, Brown was released from the Baltimore County Detention Center.
