Baltimore County Working to Correct Oliver Beach Water Problem

Residents along Greenbank Road are experiencing discolored tap water.

Baltimore County's Department of Public Works is working to correct a problem that has caused discolored tap water in the Oliver Beach neighborhood of Middle River.

Residents in the area of Greenbank Road reported the discolored water Wednesday, according to a statement from the public works department.

The water, which officials say is safe to drink, was apparently discolored by disturbed sediment in the water system.

Contractual workers will begin flushing hydrants as a slow rate this afternoon, according to spokesman David Fidler.

The water is expected to clear up later today or early Thursday.

Baltimore County has been replacing 10,000 feet of water lines in Oliver Beach, but that work is unrelated to this problem, according to public works engineers.
