Dundalk United Continues Efforts to Save Center

The group will hold a rally to save the North Point Government Center on Saturday.

Dundalk United members will continue their efforts to save the North Point Government Center by staging a rally Saturday at the four corners of Merritt Boulevard and Wise Avenue.

Government center supporters and any citizen against the sale of any park land are invited to participate, according to community member Karen Cruz, who also serves as the president of the Eastfield-Stanbrook Civic Association.

Participants are encouraged to make and bring signs with messages about the importance of saving the well-used center and park.

The rally will be held from noon to 2 p.m.

Organizers hope to attract enough people to put crowds on each corner of the intersection as well as to line the length of the building.

The group will also continue to deliver its message to the Baltimore County Council.

A bus has been rented to take residents to the Council meeting Monday night, May 6. The bus will leave the Dundalk Moose Lodge parking lot (2800 Sollers Point Road) at 4:45 p.m.

"You need to be there by 5:40 p.m. to sign in to be able to speak for three minutes," Cruz wrote in an email to Dundalk United members. "Write your thoughts down."

Seats are still available on the bus for residents who want to join the group; the cost is $10 per person.

"We really can not do this without all your help," Cruz said in the email. "Remember THIS IS OUR PARK!"

If you'd like to reserve a seat on the bus, call Cruz, 410-285-7399.
