Key Bridge Service Road Has Reopened to Traffic

The construction work continues; drivers are asked to obey signs and watch for construction workers and equipment.

The service road under the Francis Scott Key Bridge that provides access to the outer loop of the Baltimore Beltway (I-695) has reopened, according to Maryland Transportation Authority officials.

The project is not complete, according to spokeswoman Tamory Winfield. Drivers are asked to drive slowly, obey signs and watch for construction workers and equipment while traveling on the road.

The service road closed Aug. 16 for improvements that were expected to take two weeks to complete.

The work is part of a $1.6 million preservation project being carried out by the agency.
