For classmates of Dundalk High School who graduated in the early 1970s, all they need is a computer, webcam and Internet connection to attend this year’s reunion.
A multimedia cyber reunion, where people can stream live video of themselves, call in via phones or send tweets, is being held online at 8 p.m., Oct. 22. Everyone attending will be able to view live video of and talk to six classmates simultaneously as “Big” Ray Petty, a 1973 graduate and host of the cyber reunion, will be live-switching between webcams.
“I’m going to run it like a show,” said Petty, who was voted "Class Clown."
All interested graduates of Dundalk High School can create a free account on Stickam.com and request access to participate in the cyber reunion by clicking the “Add as Friend” button above the video player on the custom webpage.
Petty, who now lives and works in Arizona, created this online event for all graduates, but especifically for those who may live too far away from Dundalk to return for a traditional reunion. He got the idea when he was streaming a wedding two years ago when some relatives of the bride and groom were not able to travel to the ceremony.
Petty created the Dundalk High School cyber reunion webpage last year and said it worked out successfully when trying it out with a handful of friends.
A Facebook page will have further announcements about the cyber reunion as the date approaches.
