Gurvir Singh: Dundalk Patch Student of the Week

Dundalk Patch will occasionally feature a promising local student.

Dundalk Patch will occasionally be seeking suggestions from readers for individual students, youth groups, teens and even sports teams that wow us with their accomplishments. We want to hear about these students and will select one each week as the Dundalk Patch Student of the Week. 

This week's Dundalk Patch Student of the Week is:

●      Gurvir Singh

●      School: Senior at

●     Accomplishments: Singh, an honors program student with a 3.55 cumulative GPA and a 4.25 cumulative QPA, is enrolled in the Sparrows Point Educational Center In Environmental Studies magnet program. He also competes on the Pointer football, wrestling and track and field teams, where he has earned all academic team, and Minds in Motion awards all four years in all three sports. This past season Singh was named Honorable Mention on the All-Division Baltimore County Football team.

●     Recent Achievement: Singh announced his acceptance into the highly selective Penn State University's University Park campus.

 ●     Nominated by: Pointer head wrestling coach Mike Whisner

 ●     Key to Success: “Gurv works extremely hard, both in the classroom and on the mat,” said Pointer assistant wrestling coach Tom Free. “If he's not at practice, he's probably doing his homework or studying.”
