Kenwood High Student Named to Superintendent's Student Advisory Council

Sophomore Deeksha Walia is one of 10 students selected countywide to sit on the advisory committee.

Kenwood High School sophomore Deeksha Walia has been selected to serve on Baltimore County Public Schools Superintendent S. Dallas dance's Student Advisory Board for this school year.

Walia is one of 17 students selected countywide to sit on the committee. She was selected based on recommendations from Kenwood Principal Paul Martin and Student Council advisors Ryan Guimont and Irene McNulty, according to a statement from the school.

"Hearing the voices of students is vital to my effectiveness as superintendent," Dance said in the statement.

Also active in the Baltimore County Student Council, Walia said she is "honored and excited to be a part of this elite student group," according to the statement.

This is the second year that a Kenwood student has been selected to sit on the Student Advisory Council.
