New Dundalk High School Construction on Schedule

With the exterior walls up, the construction is on schedule.

The new school is set to open in fall of 2013, and if finished on time this year's freshman class at Dundalk will be the first to graduate from the new school.

According to the Dundalk High School web site the construction of the new school is on schedule. Soon the work will all be on the interior of the building.  Interior finishing colors including tile, walls, floors colors have been selected.

The new school is designed to be environmentally friendly and is being built with a goal of achieving Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) silver certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.

The new Dundalk High School will feature a 485-seat auditorium, science labs, and areas dedicated to homeland security, business, and communications and broadcast technology studies, according to a press release from the Baltimore County Public School system.

The new school building will also serve Sollers Point students, with new space and tools designed to assist in the study of automotive and diesel technology, building construction, engineering, welding, maritime studies, health, cosmetology, computer science and electronics, as well as a café managed by the Sollers Point culinary arts program.
