Six Patapsco High Voices Will Harmonize in All-State Choral Groups

Four Patapsco High School and Center for the Arts students were named to the All State Junior Chorus and two earned spots in the All State Senior Chorus.

After a rigorous audition process, six Patapsco High School and Center for the Arts students have been named to Maryland All State chorus groups.

The successful students won the coveted spots after competing with more than 1,200 students in each of two categories, according to Liberty Grayek, Patapsco's magnet coordinator.

William Johnson, Ivy Goetz and Cameron Nelson were named to the Junior Chorus (comprised of seventh- through ninth-graders) while Xavier Thomas was named an alternate member of the grade-level group.

David Jackson and Lizz Redding were named to the Senior Chorus (grades 10-12).

All State instrumental and vocal groups and performances are sponsored by the Maryland Music Educators Association, according to the group's website.
