If you've ever been accused of being a dreamer, or if you often catch yourself staring at the stars and just standing in awe of the universe around you, the Community College of Baltimore County has just the event for you.
The college's Dundalk campus will host a Star Party from 8 to 10 p.m. Friday, March 15, at its observatory on the front lawn of the campus at 7200 Sollers Point Road.
The observatory (officially known as T Building) is equipped with a Celestron 14-inch CGE 1400 XLT telescope. CCBC Associate Professor David Ludwikoski runs the star-gazing gatherings, which are free and open to the public.
If the weather looks uncertain, call 443-840-4216 no earlier than 45 minutes before the session to see if there is a cancellation.
If you can't make this out-of-this-world party, other spring sessions are scheduled for April 12, from 8 to 10 p.m. and May 10, from 9 to 11 p.m.
To find the observatory, make the first right after entering the campus, park in the lot and walk to the observatory, which is a small round building fenced off in the lawn in front of the parking lot.
