Traffic Pattern at Dundalk High Changing in April

The bus loop will have a new route around Delvale Avenue after spring break.

Although Dundalk High School students are on spring break, there is quite a bit of work being done on campus.

The new Dundalk-Sollers Point High School is in its final stages, according to the April 2013 Dundalk High School Newsletter, which reported that construction was 90 percent complete.

Students at Dundalk began spring break Friday, and they will return on April 8 to find a new traffic pattern in place so the new building can be finished, according to the newsletter.

Effective through the end of the school year, the gravel parking lot will be closed; the upper front Delvale entrance drive will be closed; and the cafeteria lot will be closed for vehicles other than buses from 7 a.m. to 2:45 p.m., the newsletter said.

Parking will be in the gymnasium/new parking lot behind the school, and drivers should use Bayard Street. There will be a new path to the breezeway from the new parking lot.

Visitors and the handicapped will have parking spots in front of the school during school hours.

Pick-up and drop-off will be on Delvale or Bayard Street near the new parking lot/gym. In the afternoon, parents should not park on Delvale between 1:50 and 2:15 p.m. because buses will line up there.

Students who ride the bus will be picked up in a new location, which is marked on the diagram attached to this article.
