State Playoffs: Sparrows Point Lacrosse Teams Earn No. 1 Seeds
The MPSSAA 20111 state playoffs begin this afternoon. Note that in all sports, the No. 1 through No. 4 seeds were awarded based on win-loss record, while the No. 5 through No. 12 seeds are slotted at random.
Three local teams, the Sparrows Point boys and girls lacrosse teams, and the Patapsco girls lacrosse team, earned No. 1 seeds in the region for state playoffs, which begin today.
The Dundalk boys baseball team earned a No. 2 seed in the region and the Dundalk softball team earned a No. 4 spot.

Boys lacrosse: Slated as the No. 5 seed in the 3A-2A North Region, Dundalk hosts Milford Mill Thursday, May 12 in the opening round of the state playoffs. If the Owls win, they advance to play No. 4 seed Lansdowne, at Lansdowne Saturday, May 14.
No. 11 seed Patapsco travels to Towson Thursday, May 14 to face the Generals.

In the 2A-1A North Region, No. 1 seed Sparrows Point hosts Carver A&T Saturday, May 14. If the Pointers win, they will host the winner of Pikesville vs. Owings Mills, Tuesday May 16.
Girls lacrosse: In the 2A-1A North Region, No. 1 seed Sparrows Point hosts Western, Saturday, May 14. If the Lady Owls win, they will host the winner of Chesapeake (Baltimore County) and National Academy.
In the 3A-2A North Region, No. 1 seed Patapsco hosts the winner of Bel Air and Eastern Tech Saturday, May 14.
Baseball: In the 1A North Region, No. 7 seed Sparrows Point hosts Harford Tech, Friday, May 13.
In the 2A North Region, No. 2 seed Dundalk faces the winner of City vs. Overlea Monday, May 16.
In the 3A North Region, No. 11 seed Patapsco travels to Mergenthaler Friday, May 13. If the Patriots win, they’ll advance to play at Poly Monday, May 16.
Softball: In the 1A North Region, Sparrows Point hosts Joppatowne Thursday, May 12.
In the 2A North Region, No. 4 seed Dundalk hosts Edmonson/Westside, Monday, May 16.
In the 3A North Region, No. 5 seed Patapsco hosts Towson Thursday, May 12.

May 24 & 25 — Lacrosse state finals at UMBC
May 27 — Tennis state finals at College Park
