The Dundalk Farmers Market is open for business, with a variety of produce and other food items available in the outdoor mart in downtown Dundalk.
The market has for years opened on the first Saturday after Dundalk's Heritage Fair, but farmers and customers alike wanted to get a head start this summer and opened for the season on June 9.
In addition to traditional farm vegetables, vendors are also offering chicken and beef, eggs, honey, pee pollen, jams and jellies and flowers.
Seven farmers are now participating, including Edgemere's West Farm, according to Lil Tirschman, who helps organize the mart.
The market will be open today from 7 a.m. to noon. It will be closed Saturday, June 30 while the Heritage Fair is open, and then will reopen July 7 for the remainder of the season.
The stands are located along Shipping Place in downtown Dundalk, in front of the Dundalk Village Shopping Center.
