Still Need to Buy Mother's Day Flowers?

Mother's Day shopping procrastinators can buy flowers at the last minute while also helping out a local organization.

Volunteers from the Edgemere-Sparrows Point Recreation Council are running a flower and plant stand at Hob's Citgo, North Point and Sparrows Point roads in Edgemere.

The stand will be open through Sunday or until all plants are sold, according to volunteer Fred Chester, who was working the booth Friday afternoon.

Hanging flower baskets cost $15; smaller plants are $3 each or two for $5; and vegetable plants were on the way, Chester said.

You can buy a Mother's Day gift without traveling too far from home, and help youth activities and the annual Edgestock music festival at the same time.
