Just want to shout out a HUGE "THANK YOU GOD" for Eastern Assembly of God -- my family and I started going here on "Friend Day" back in January 2010, and knew we had found home. The presence of God was felt as soon as we walked in the door, from the friendly greeters (and thanks Amanda for being our "Red Carpet Helper" - you made us feel welcomed and helped in a new place!), to folks making us feel comfortable (and not like we were sitting in someone's seat lol), to the worship team (who played to point us to God instead of themselves), to the deacons (who took us under their wings and helped us grow in grace), to Pastor Ed who not only brings the Word of God as a great teacher (very engaging to hear and watch as his use of visuals really helps those of us who love to picture things -- loved that message Easter of the 2 ladders, and "quick-tossing" our cares/anxieties back to God), but who actually lives the Word he preaches -- he's been caught mowing the church lawn, picking up trash, washing other's cars, you get the idea....
These people shine what Jesus was like when He walked the earth--a servant's heart,a heart to get God's good news to everyone,to discover and use the gifts God has given us,to minister not only all over the world but to be a blessing right here in our own back yard, starting with our own families. I am intensely grateful for how my relationship with God has exploded, how my life has amazingly changed since I've been here at Eastern. That's our God!!!
