Baltimore County police have a man in custody after a shooting that occurred in Edgemere Tuesday night. At 6:25 p.m. May 21, police officers responded to the 7500 block of Sparrows Point Road for a report of a shooting, according to Baltimore County Police Department spokesman Cpl. John Wachter. Upon arrival, officers found an adult man suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body, according to Wachter. He was taken to an area hospital where his medical condition was stabilized. The preliminary police investigation indicates the victim and the suspect were in an altercation at the location when the suspect shot the victim once, Wachter said in a statement. A fire, accompanied by "loud noises," on Thursday heavily damaged a house under construction in Dundalk.
A house under construction in the 2600 block of Yorkway has been torn down after being heavily damaged by fire on Thursday. Firefighters received a call at 12:46 p.m. May 16 reporting smoke showing in the structure, according to police officials. Baltimore County fire personnel on the scene and witnesses in the area reported hearing a series of "loud noises" coming from the structure. After searching the building to make sure no one was inside, fire crews were evacuated out of concern for their safety, a department spokeswoman said Thursday. Fire investigators will work to determine the cause of the Yorkway fire, according to a police spokeswoman.
Police are investigating a fire that broke out Thursday in a house under construction in Dundalk. Crews were called to the scene at 12:46 p.m. for smoke showing from the single-family home in the 2600 block of Yorkway. No injuries were reported to workers or firefighters as a result of the incident, and fire investigators will work to determine the cause, police spokeswoman Cpl. Cathy Batton said. "[Fire] personnel who were inside did hear a series of loud noises, but they were evacuated," Batton said. "Right now the structure is too unsafe for our personnel to be inside." Stephanie Kamlot, age 40, has been charged in a police-involved shooting that happened Saturday in Pikesville. Early Saturday morning, Kamlot—with an unknown address—was shot several times in the upper body by an officer of the Pikesville precinct after she refused to put down a replica of a gun that looked like a semi-automatic handgun, police have said. Kamlot, who was still hospitalized on Monday, has been charged with first-degree assault and obstruction of justice in the incident that allegedly happened outside a home in the 3100 block of Northbrook Road, according to police. The Wendy's restaurant on Merritt Boulevard in Dundalk was heavily damaged by a fire early Sunday morning. Crews were dispatched to the eatery in the 1300 block of Merritt Boulevard at 5:41 a.m. for the report of smoke showing from the building, according to Cpl. Cathy Batton, a spokeswoman for the Baltimore County Police Department. Upon arrival, crews discovered that a fire had started in the kitchen of the restaurant, which was not occupied at the time. The fire was brought under control at 6:13 a.m., Batton said. Firefighters have determined that the fire, which caused about $180,000 in damage, was accidental, according to Batton. Eighteen pieces of equipment responded to fight the blaze.
The incident on Interstate 695 happened around 3:30 p.m. Monday.
A dump truck overturned on the inner loop of the Baltimore Beltway near Pulaski Highway Monday, injuring a driver, police said. Police were called to the scene at 3:37 p.m., and the driver was taken to MedStar Franklin Square Hospital Center, a Maryland State Police spokesman said. Information on the severity of the driver's injuries was not available. The spokesman said state highway crews were assessing the crash scene, and police were still investigating the incident.

Police: The woman was holding a handgun replica when she was shot.
A woman shot by a Baltimore County police officer early Saturday morning in Pikesville was holding a handgun replica and will be charged in the incident, police said. A Baltimore County police officer shot the woman several times in the upper body after she did not follow police orders to drop the weapon. The woman threatened the officer with a metallic replica of a large semi-automatic handgun, a police investigation revealed. The woman, who was in stable condition Sunday afternoon, will be charged with first-degree assault and obstruction of justice upon her release from the hospital, Baltimore County police Officer Shawn Vinson said.
