Dundalk Crime Roundup: Home Invasions, Armed Robbery, Assault

The following information was supplied by the Baltimore County Police Department. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

The following is a roundup of recent crime in Greater Dundalk: Feb. 4: Commercial burglary, 2300 block of Sparrows Point Road Between 12:35 and 12:53 a.m., an unknown suspect broke the front door glass at the Edge Rock Cafe. Nothing appears to have been taken. Feb. 2: Home invasion robbery, 100 block of Shipway At 3:45 p.m., two suspects knocked on the victim's door and stated that they were from the water department. Both suspects walked into the home and forced one of the victims to sit on the couch. Money was taken from an upstairs bedroom. The victims called 911 after the suspects fled on foot. I find it astounding that the scam of entering a home posing as water department employees still works. The police have been driving this home for years. The Water Dept. NEVER - EVER needs to enter a home. They are able to test water quality from their own side of the pipes. Their domain stops at the water meter in front of your home.
