Dundalk Concert Series Closes Tonight with 'Impulse'

The summer's final concert begins at 6:30 p.m. at Heritage Park.

Dundalk's Concerts in the Park series will close for the summer tonight with a performance by Impulse. The music will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the gazebo at Heritage Park in downtown Dundalk. Impulse is a variety band that plays music from the 1970s, ’80s and ’90s. The band was originally scheduled to perform on Aug. 9 but the concert was rained out. Because of the band's popularity in Dundalk, concert organizer Angel Ball asked Impulse members if they would be able to reschedule. That collaborative effort to provide free music to the Dundalk community resulted in one more chance for neighbors to get out their lawn chairs and blankets, pack a picnic dinner and gather as a community again. Vendors will have food available for purchase if …

Video of the Day: Alexandria's Star-Spangled Banner

10-Year-Old Alexandria Callahan Kicked Off Concerts in the Park Thursday with her rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner.

An usually cool summer evening set the stage for the fourth night of the Concerts in the Park series at Heritage Park. The festivities were kicked off by Alexandria Callahan, 10, singing the "Star Spangled Banner." After a momentary bout of nervousness, Alexandria bravely started again – and nailed it. Alexandria is going to be in the fifth grade at Charlesmont Elementary in the fall. Her mother, Angel Ball, organizes the summer concert series. Pet Rock entertained the crowd afterwards.

Concerts in the Park to Return this Summer

Ball ran into Harry Young, who volunteers at the Dundalk-Patapsco Neck Historical Society, and he surprised her by pitching the idea. …
