Edgemere's Mr. Potato Head Pez dispenser morphs to celebrate Earth Week.
The ever-changing face of the giant Mr. Potato Head Pez dispenser in Edgemere has morphed once again, this time to don Earth eyes and grab a rake in celebration of Earth Day, week and month. The creation of brothers David and Scott Wendler, the giant dispenser replica is on display in their North Point Road yard, where it overlooks much of the North Point peninsula. Patch reader and local resident and photographer Paul Denbow captured Mr. Potato Head's most recent look and provides today's Photo of the Day. Since being put up in celebration of Halloween, the Pez dispenser has celebrated Thanksgiving, Christmas, the new year, Presidents Day, Valentine's Day and St. Patrick's Day before assuming its current face. Russell the Russet Potato Head Pez dispenser took on a Thanksgiving personna this week, with the addition of a turkey leg and a feather head band. Brothers David and Scott Wendler built the display for Halloween, but have promised the scene will constantly evolve throughout the holiday season and beyond. I have it on good authority that Mr. Potato Head will undergo some changes this weekend as he begins the transition to the Christmas season. Enjoy, and stay with Patch to watch the metamorphosis of the Edgemere Pez dispenser!

Edgemere residents have grown accustomed to the creative gifts brothers Scott and David Wendler give to the community by way of their outlandish, over-the-top holiday yard displays. Their latest creation is a display in their North Point Road yards that pays homage to summer trips to the beach and also gives new meaning to the phrase "everything but the kitchen sink." Enjoy the laugh, courtesy of the Wendler brothers!
