The incident that led Kmart to evacuate and tactical teams to deploy to Dundalk Wednesday afternoon began with a threat and a crowbar, according to police. At approximately 2:20 p.m. Wednesday, a witness flagged down a patrol officer on 54th Street to report that a shirtless man carrying a crowbar had approached and threatened him in the parking lot of Kmart, police said. The man had told the witness he had a gun, according to a statement from the Baltimore County Police Department. Police said that the shirtless man, identified as 32-year-old Clifton Rodney Duncan Jr., of the 2600 block of Yorkway, proceeded to use his crowbar to destroy a glass door at Kmart, in the 200 block of North Point Boulevard. Police identified the man involved in the situation Wednesday that resulted in a school lockdown and store evacuation as Clifton Rodney Duncan Jr. Duncan, 32, of the 2600 block of Yorkway, has been charged with first-degree burglary, malicious destruction of property, five counts of false imprisonment and other offenses, according to the Baltimore County Police Department. UPDATE (11 p.m.)—Baltimore County police say they have arrested the man who barricaded himself in an industrial building Wednesday after fleeing Kmart and breaking into a Colgate home, causing a disturbance that sent nearby Colgate Elementary School into lockdown. Authorities had the man in custody at approximately 6:40 p.m., according to a statement from the Baltimore County Police Department. The arrest followed nearly four hours of police activity in the area, sparked by what officials said was a call about a "disturbance" at the Kmart on North Point Boulevard. Police in Dundalk are investigating an armed robbery that took place on Church Road Monday morning, according to The Baltimore Sun. At approximately 7:30 a.m. on March 11, a man was reportedly followed from Church Road into an alley between Kavanagh and Kentley roads. A man hit the victim in the head with a gun, kicked him and stole his cash, The Baltimore Sun reported. The victim said he believed the man was following him, according to the article. The Baltimore County Police Department said the man was armed when he robbed a 7-Eleven.
On Tuesday, Baltimore County police released pictures of the man suspected in an armed robbery at an Edgemere convenience store in January. On Jan. 23, the man allegedly displayed a gun inside the 7-Eleven on the 7100 block of North Point Road and left with money, according to a statement from the Baltimore County Police Department. Police described the suspect as a white man between 25 and 32 years old who was 5-foot-7, with short brown hair and a medium build. Baltimore County police served warrants Saturday on 16 vendors suspected of selling counterfeit goods at the Dundalk market.
Baltimore County police officers have just finished serving a series of search warrants on about 16 dealers suspected of selling counterfeit goods at the North Point Flea Market in Dundalk. Using funds from the Federal Bureau of Justice Assistance Intellectual Property Theft Enforcement Program, officers initiated an investigation after complaints were received about the fake goods, according to Cpl.
