Easter egg hunt fans will get their chance to hunt their share of 10,000 eggs when Dundalk's annual Mega Egga Hunt is held March 23. The Easter Bunny will take over Heritage Park that day (with a rain date of March 30) so children and adults can gather all the prize-containing eggs they can grab. Organizer Angel Ball promises "fun for everyone" at the event that will feature free food, free pictures of the kids with the Easter Bunny and free goodie bags. Volunteers, including local church members and residents of Dunmanway Apartments, a senior-citizen complex of which Ball is the manager, are busy stuffing the eggs to give the Easter Bunny a little help during his busy season. Friday night will be devoted to tribute acts, with Almost Queen and The Mahoney Brothers taking Stage 1. Three Dog Night will be the main attraction Saturday night and Jefferson Starship will close out the festival on Sunday night. Heritage Fair started in 1976 as a celebration of the nation's bicentennial, and was intended to be a one-time event. Eleven years have softened some of the edges of the raw images of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on American soil. But remembering that day, and the lives lost on what is perhaps one of the darkest days in American history, still causes people to brush away tears and choke up while talking about their memories. It is that very need to continue healing and continue to share fellowship that inspires Dundalk community leaders to hold an annual Sept. 11 Remembrance Ceremony. This year's event was Tuesday night at Heritage Park. Sponsored by the Dundalk Heritage Parade Committee, the event uses music, prayer and reflection to pay respects to those who lost their lives, to honor those who stepped forward to help that day, and to thank …

Dundalk community members marked the 11th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks by gathering in prayer, music and fellowship at Heritage Park Tuesday night. A crowd of several hundred people gathered to honor those lost on Sept. 11, 2001, and to express their thanks to first responders and others who helped that day. Musical performances by Lori Rabuck, Malvilyn and Calvin Statham and the Calvary Baptist Church choir, a prayer and sermon from the Rev. Cameron Giovanelli and a keynote address by former CCBC Dundalk Campus Administrator and Dean Barney Wilson served to bring the community together in remembrance. Did you take photos of the event? Greater Dundalk residents are invited to gather tonight at Heritage Park in remembrance of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. A remembrance ceremony, planned by the Dundalk Heritage Parade Committee, will begin at 7 p.m. at the park's gazebo. The remembrance event will include musical performances and guest speakers. Small flags and candles will be provided. Residents should bring blankets or lawn chairs. Dundalk resident Irene Spatafore asks residents to bring items for "Angels Supporting Our Troops," a project that sends care packages to soldiers serving in war zones. Each soldier receives 50 to 55 items in a box, according to Spatafore. For more information about the ceremony, call Don Kellner, 410-227-8462. For more information about …

The summer's final concert begins at 6:30 p.m. at Heritage Park.
Dundalk's Concerts in the Park series will close for the summer tonight with a performance by Impulse. The music will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the gazebo at Heritage Park in downtown Dundalk. Impulse is a variety band that plays music from the 1970s, ’80s and ’90s. The band was originally scheduled to perform on Aug. 9 but the concert was rained out. Because of the band's popularity in Dundalk, concert organizer Angel Ball asked Impulse members if they would be able to reschedule. That collaborative effort to provide free music to the Dundalk community resulted in one more chance for neighbors to get out their lawn chairs and blankets, pack a picnic dinner and gather as a community again. Vendors will have food available for purchase if …

Movies in the Park series continues with "Big Miracle."
Heritage Park takes on many roles in the Dundalk community — it's home of the famous Heritage Fair, a popular village green, a great place to relax and read a book or meet a friend, a tree grove that's home to many birds and small animals and a concert venue. Tonight, the tiny Baltimore County park turns into an outdoor movie theater with the screening of Big Miracle, a film based on a true story about the rescue of a group of whales that became trapped by rapidly forming ice in the Arctic Circle. The movie, which is free, starts at 8 p.m. Big Miracle will be shown on a big screen to the left of the Heritage Park gazebo (the Shipway side of the park). Dundalk-Eastfield Recreation Council football volunteers will sell hotdogs, popcorn and …

The 2012 Dundalk Concerts in the Park series was supposed to conclude tonight with an appearance by the 229th Army rock ensemble Live Fire. But Mother Nature hasn't been kind to the concert schedule this summer, with rain canceling two of the six performances. Concert organizer Angel Ball was able to reschedule one of those rained-out gigs, with variety band Impulse set to appear Aug. 30 at Heritage Park. So music lovers tonight can enjoy the tunes of the renowned Army band with the promise of one more summer concert to be enjoyed in the village green with friends new and old. Tonight's concert begins at 6:30 p.m. at the gazebo in Heritage Park on Trading Place in downtown Dundalk. The free series is sponsored by the Dundalk-Eastfield …
