Local bar on Sollers Point said to be for sale.
The Dundalk bar owned by state Del. Joseph J. "Sonny" Minnick is said to be for sale, according to a neighboring funeral home owner who is considering purchasing the establishment. Colt Connelly, owner of Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk, told Patch recently that he is considering purchasing the tavern known as Minnick's Bar and Restaurant, located in the 7100 block of Sollers Point. "We've had preliminary discussions," Connelly said. "I don't think it's any secret that it's been on the block for some time." Connelly added that he's not sure whether he would buy the liquor license and run a bar at the same location, or simply buy the property where the bar is located. Time will tell. My lips are sealed. Sonny is a Blue Dog Democratic and we need more in Annapolis like him that will balance out the ship on an even keel. I would love to see Sonny run again, but after awhile the job wears on the good guys. I think he is seeing the reality of just how nasty the politics are. One day I hope the real story comes out on the issue that continues to swirl in rumors.   more ›
