A third man has accused the Turner Station native of engaging in underage sex with him.

A third man has stepped forward to accuse puppeteer Kevin Clash of engaging in a sexual relationship with him while he was underage. Clash, a Dundalk native, is accused of using alcohol to "groom" the then-16-year-old boy into sexual activity, the New York Daily News reported today. The paper cited a lawsuit filed by the accuser using the name "John Doe" in Manhattan Federal Court on Tuesday. The accuser, now 29, claims to have met Clash in 2000 on a gay phone chat line when he was a 16-year-old aspiring model from New Jersey. Clash resigned from his job as the voice of Elmo last week after a $5 million lawsuit was filed by Cecil Singleton, 24, who claims that Clash had sex with him when he was 15. Clash Faces Allegations From Second Accuser

TMZ reported a lawsuit filed by a second man accuses Clash of having underage sex with him.

As news spread Tuesday of puppeteer Kevin Clash's resignation from Sesame Street, the website TMZ reported that the resignation comes after the filing of a lawsuit against Clash by a second accuser. TMZ reported that Cecil Singleton, the accuser named in the suit, alleges that Clash had a sexual relationship with him in 2003. Singleton, now 24, according to the website, claims that he met Clash on a gay phone chat line, and also said that Clash "trolled" such phone chat rooms "to meet and have sex with underage boys." Singleton is demanding more than $5 million in his lawsuit against Clash, according to TMZ. Clash, 52, is a Turner Station native and a 1979 graduate of Dundalk High School. Citing two sources, The Smoking Gun identifies Clash's sexual impropriety accuser as Sheldon Stephens of Harrisburg, Pa.

The Smoking Gun website has uncovered the identity of the man who accused puppeteer Kevin Clash of having an under-age sexual relationship with him. Citing two sources—a family member and a friend—The Smoking Gun said Clash's accuser is 24-year-old Sheldon Stephens, an aspiring model and actor. Stephens did not respond to requests for comment made by the website to his Facebook and Twitter accounts, according to The Smoking Gun's article. Clash Accuser Recants Allegations of Sexual Impropriety

A law firm issued a statement recanting accusations made about the man who performs the voice of Elmo on Sesame Street.

The 23-year-old man who accused puppeteer Kevin Clash, the voice of Elmo, of having sex with him when he was 16 has recanted that allegation. New York Times reporter Brian Stelter is reporting via Twitter and newyorktimes.com that the man admitted the relationship was between consenting adults. The recantation was issued in a statement from a law firm, according to Stelter. Stelter also tweeted a statement from Clash: "I am relieved that this painful allegation has been put to rest. I will not discuss it further." A mass communications class organized a screening of the award-winning documentary, "Being Elmo: A Puppeteer's Journey," featuring the life's work of Turner Station native Kevin Clash, who provides the voice and personality of the iconic Muppet.
