Rebuilding Together Baltimore Cancels Energy Efficiency Workshop

The free seminar was originally scheduled for Dec. 8.

Rebuilding Together Baltimore officials have canceled a free energy efficiency workshop originally planned for Dec. 8. Insufficient interest in the seminar is blamed for the cancellation, according to Michele Hyland of the Colgate Improvement Association. Rebuilding Together Baltimore Offers Energy Efficiency Seminar

The workshop will be held Dec. 8 at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Colgate.

With winter—and cold weather heating bills approaching—Building Together Baltimore is offering a free energy efficiency workshop for local residents. The workshop will be held from noon to 3 p.m. on Dec. 8, at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 7834 Eastern Ave. The seminar will teach residents about energy efficiency and "empower them to make improvements in their homes that will help save them money, remain warm and dry and help protect the environment," according to a statement about the program. The program will explore how energy habits affect power bills and highlight the most wasteful habits to avoid; discuss no-cost and low-cost energy saving tips; and offer hands-on demonstrations of window caulking and other critical …

Colgate Homes Needed for Free Repair Program

Rebuilding Together Baltimore will provide free repairs for homeowners in April.

Rebuilidng Together Baltimore plans to provide free repairs to houses in Colgate in April. But before volunteers can do those repairs, Rebuilding Together officials need to identify homeowners in need of the organization's help. To be eligible for the program, houses must be located in the Colgate neighborhood of Baltimore County, according to a program poster. The houses must be owner-occupied (meaning that the homeowner, with or without a mortgage still on the property, must live in the house) and meet income and other requirements.
