Starting in 2013, westbound Maryland Route 43 will include a new left turn lane and left exit to southbound Interstate 95.
The new year is bringing a major traffic change to Interstate 95 and White Marsh Boulevard, thanks to the ongoing I-95 Express Toll Lanes project. The new traffic pattern—which includes the addition of a left turn lane on westbound Maryland Route 43 and new left exits toward I-95—is expected to take effect on or around Jan. 4, according to roadside signs and an announcement by the Maryland Transportation Authority. Previously, all traffic from MD Route 43, also called White Marsh Boulevard, to I-95 exited on the right. A traffic detour is expected Wednesday night on White Marsh Boulevard.
Roadwork as part of the I-95 Express Toll Lanes project is expected to close a ramp Wednesday night into Monday morning. According to a Maryland Transportation Authority alert released Tuesday afternoon: Weather-permitting, the ramp from westbound MD 43 (White Marsh Boulevard) to northbound I-95 will be temporarily closed for night work. Traffic will be detoured to southbound I-95, to eastbound MD 43 (Exit 67A, White Marsh Boulevard), to northbound I-95. The closure will occur on Wednesday, Oct. 10, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning. Baltimore City transportation officials will share information about projects planned for Broening Highway and Dundalk Avenue.
Commuters who regularly traverse Baltimore city's tooth-jarring portions of Broening Highway and Dundalk Avenue might want to attend a gathering tonight hosted by the city's Department of Transportation. The Southeast Road Reconstruction Program community open house will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 18, at 1708 Dundalk Ave. in the Holabird Manor apartments. Residents are invited to learn about a series of improvement projects in southeast Baltimore, which will include the reconstruction of Broening Highway, the streetscaping of Dundalk Avenue, intersection safety improvements throughout the area and the commercial vehicle management plan for the area, according to a statement from city officials. I guess CORY G has a pile of $ to blow....have you read the first earlier comments? I drove in this new pattern today and can just tell you it's just a pile of accidents and grief waiting to happen. If you're coming from honeygo & get on the ramp to go 95S you have to yield TWICE.
