Beating the Heat at Sandy Beach Day
The horizon was filled with boats. The water was filled with happy revelers. The soaring temperatures only served to make a day on the water all the more rewarding.
The 4th Annual Sandy Beach Day proved a great way to beat the heat this weekend. Temperatures soared into triple digits Saturday, creating a perfect atmosphere – and need – for some fun in the sun off the shores of Fort Howard in Old Road Bay. Event organizer Chris Stachowski, a North Point Creek Road resident, started Sandy Beach Day as a local alternative to Canal Day, which is held in the upper Chesapeake Bay. More than 100 boats turned out this year. “I went to Canal Day a couple of years ago and thought we should have something like this more local, not so far from home," Stachowski said. "We’ve always done it at the same location. "It’s been growing each year.” The boats started showing up Friday in preparation for the long weekend…

David your absolutely right and right after that is when those unknown people who were using the microphone was kicked off the bridge of the boat and it was over with. Any of us that started this does not advertise this. I have no clue who they were or where they came from but it was over in matter of a few minutes.
