An 8-year-old boy is in serious condition at a local pediatric trauma center after being struck by a car Monday morning at Sandy Plains Elementary School. Police responded to the school in the 8300 block of Kavanagh Road at about 8:30 a.m., according to a Baltimore County Police Department spokeswoman.
