Sandy Plains Elementary Student Struck by Car

The 8-year-old boy received serious injuries, according to Baltimore County police officials.

An 8-year-old boy is in serious condition at a local pediatric trauma center after being struck by a car Monday morning at Sandy Plains Elementary School. Police responded to the school in the 8300 block of Kavanagh Road at about 8:30 a.m., according to a Baltimore County Police Department spokeswoman. The boy was taken by ambulance to the trauma center with serious injuries, according to police. The driver of the car that struck the child remained on the scene. The police department's crash team is investigating the incident. No other information was available.

Shell I am in complete agreeance w you! It drives me crazy to see adults and children Jay walking, which is still illegal to do. Kids have very delayed reactions and run instead of stopping when they should. I have had many kids just jump out from in between cars and its very nerve wracking!
