Four Injured in Boat Crash Near Key Bridge

A 40-foot recreational boat struck a piling near the bridge Sunday night, authorities said.

  Three people injured in a boat crash near the Francis Scott Key Bridge on Sunday night were taken to area hospitals by Baltimore County Fire Department crews, according to a county public safety spokeswoman. The Department of Natural Resources, the U.S. Coast Guard and the county fire department all assisted in the aftermath of the crash in what Baltimore County Police Detective Cathy Batton called a "truly multi-jurisdictional effort." A Good Samaritan notified Coast Guard Sector Baltimore Watchstanders at about 9:44 p.m. Sunday after seeing a 40-foot recreational boat strike a piling near the Key Bridge, according to Coast Guard News.
