Blog: Eastfield Stanbrook Easter Egg Hunt and the Bunny Caper?

Suspects won't belch in what happened to the bunny.

When it comes to having a in the Dundalk area, the Eastfield Stanbrook Civic Association spares no effort in bringing together the community, especially parents and children.

This was evident at its annual Easter egg hunt held at the Grange Elementary School in Dundalk.

This Easter egg hunt drew a large gathering of area residents along with their children who enjoyed arts, crafts, games, Spiderman and the Easter Bunny – I think?  We’ll get to that in a moment.

You can always tell how successful these events are when you arrive and can’t find a place to park.  Walking through the front door and viewing the size of the gathering I knew it was time to turn on my camera.

Before I got to the people part I ran into a grey horned owl, a screech owl, a turkey vulture and a peregrine falcon.  I sprang into action and starting shooting pictures.  Alright, maybe taking pictures would be a better choice of words.  Nonetheless I got some great shots, I mean pictures.

Now I could have sworn I saw the Easter Bunny talking to Spiderman.  When I went back to take a picture the Easter Bunny was gone.  Being a retired cop I became suspicious and starting asking numerous people, did any of you see the Easter Bunny around?   After hearing no more than once I went right to the source.

I went back to my feathered friends and listened for clues.  When I didn’t hear any belching I headed out the door.

All kidding aside, it was a fun day for all.  The event was sponsored by the Dundalk Eastfield Recreation and Parks Council and the Dundalk Optimist.

I promise to check with Karen Cruz and find out what happened in the bunny caper!
