Campaign Update

Another great week for our team. I am humbled to announce that I have received two more endorsements. Former Delegate Nancy Hubers has endorsed my candidacy. I have known Nancy and her husband Dan since I was a young man. Their commitment to our community and Nancys' service to our district in Annapolis are without equal.

I also received the endorsement of The Eastern Baltimore County Democratic Club this week. This is one of the largest clubs around, with a proud history of service to our community. I am grateful for thier support and their confidence that I am the best candidate to represent our district.

I had the opportunity to participate in two candidate forums this week. Special thanks to The Greater Dundalk Alliance for hosting the event on Monday and The Dundalk Chamber of Commerce and The Millers Island/Edgemere Business Association for the event on Wednesday. I really enjoy the opportunity to talk with the voters about the important issues involving our district.

One of those issues came to light this week. On Monday, a community meeting was held with regard to a proposed subsidized housing project on Old Eastern Ave. in Essex. I have been working with the community to stop this project. We do not need this type of development in an area we have worked so hard to improve over the past decade. Many residents at that meeting compared this PUD to the controversial development of the Northpoint Government Center. I hope in this case the current Councilman listens to the voice of the people and determines that this project is not in our community's best interest.

I want to take this opportunity to wish all of you a safe and happy Memorial Day. Please take the time to think about our veterans and those men and women who are currently serving our country both here and abroad. Our freedom and way of life depend on them. Please also take a moment to remind your children of the reason for this holiday. As always, I will have the honor of singing the National Anthem at the Memorial Day service at Holly Hills Memorial Gardens. The service is Monday at 9AM. This is a wonderful event and I hope to see you there.

I want to thank all of you who have helped my campaign in so many ways. We are gaining momentum every day and our supporters and volunteers are the reason. If you would like to join our team, now is the time! Send me an email or call me at 443-921-5290. It is just one month until change comes to the 7th District!

Sincerely,
Joe
