Riding the Waves of Public Assistance Fraud
Entitlement abuse grows to new highs, or lows, depending on your point of view
I’m about to invoke a bunch of surfing metaphors and lyrics into this blog. However, before I do that, you should watch the report that prompted all of this in order to gain context.

I won’t go into the rest of the song, because it makes me sad that there would be more to say on the subject. Rather, I’ll give my opinion, since it is my blog…
In 2000, the food stamp budget in this nation was $17 billion. By 2013, that budget item ballooned to $80 billion under the Obama administration. And while I am all for lending a helping hand, there are people that are abusing this system terribly.
Nothing like seeing someone whip out an Independence card to buy lobster and then drive away in a Range Rover to make your blood boil, folks.
Actually, the public assistance fraud issue in this country goes much deeper and encompasses the entire entitlement program. Again watch this short clip on the subject:

The estimated cost of entitlement fraud is around $60 billion. Can you imagine what can be done in this country with $60 billion??? Our wounded warriors, who are not treated remotely as well as those engaged in entitlement fraud, could have a lot of their suffering eliminated.
Instead, we have this headline:
“Issa subpoenas VA Secretary Shinseki over lavish conferences”
(Just to keep you in the loop, these subpoenas involve Shinseki spending $6.1 million on lavish conferences.)
To make matters worse, VA hospitals are now taking another route to avoid backlogs: they are simply destroying records of vets. Here is an audio piece on the matter, as reported in the Daily Caller:
So, it seems the wave of public assistance fraud is sweeping into every segment of our society. In the end, the only thing that will stop this cataclysmic event will be our great nation not having enough money to pay its bills.
But that will bring an end to everything, folks…
As the national debt grows to more than $17 trillion, it is getting to the point that the United States can’t afford to pay the interest on the deficit, let alone pay down the deficit. Thus, we find ourselves in a situation where the value of the dollar will begin to plummet, inflation will begin to rise uncontrollably, and the country will need a bailout, just like Greece.
At the top of the abuse chain, the Democrats are spending our tax dollars like drunken sailors (pardon the pun). However, when the bills come due, the check book will not have a high enough balance, and those addicted to the free stuff will not be happy when their extra benefits go away.
After all, these politicians are guided by the wisdom of Maryland’s own Nancy Pelosi, who says the “death of the 40 hour workweek will help Americans to follow their dream.”
(Excuse me, but I think I just threw up in my mouth a little [GAG].)
Maybe, when it all hits the fan, we can ask the surfer dude for a loan…
